Fees & Deposits For New Service
Deposits
Customers with Propane of Wendover typically have a tank set at their property, in varying sizes of 120 gallons to 325 gallons, that are serviced via truck delivery. When a customer moves into a residence with a tank on the property, a starting read is taken of the tank to determine the amount of the deposit. This number is a percentage of the total gallons in the tank and is required to be paid prior to any further deliveries to the residence. For example, customer John Doe moves into a residence with a 120 gallon tank installed at the property. When Mr. Doe moves in, there is 40% left in the tank from the previous tenant/owner. This indicates that there are 48 gallons left in the tank that will be charged at current rates to Mr. Doe and would need to be paid before he needs his next delivery.
Pre-Pay Policy
New customers are required to prepay for a minimum of 75 gallons for a minimum of the first 6 months of service to establish payment history with Propane of Wendover. A customer can prepay up to the total amount that the tank on their property will hold. This can be done by visiting our office or prepaying over the phone.Gas Checks
Gas checks are required for any new service sign up where the gas has been previously shut off, when a new appliance is installed, and when an appliance is removed. Gas checks are a flat fee of $40 that is charged to your first monthly bill. What To Expect On Your First Bill
New utility service can always be confusing on what to expect with new bills and charges. Our goal is to set that expectation on what that first bill will look like, when it will be due, and payment options.
Tips for New Billing
- Deliveries are invoiced on the day the propane is delivered. Our driver will leave the top copy of the delivery ticket with the resident or on the door. Payment is due within 10 days of the actual delivery.
- Payments not made within 10 days will be included on a statement on the last day of every month. If payment is not received by the 10th day, a late fee of $30 will be applied to the bill.
- If a gas check fee is applicable, it will be billed on your first bill and is a one-time fee.
Tips for Home Delivery
If you have not had home delivery for your propane needs, below are a few tips to make deliveries easier.- Always call for a delivery when your tank reads 25%. Every tank 120 gallons and larger will have a gauge mounted to the top of the tank to help with this.
- Please call with at least a day's notice for your delivery. We make every effort to do deliveries in a timely manner but emergencies do occur. In the winter months demand is high and scheduling can be difficult. Avoid running out of propane by calling early.
- All requests for delivery must be made through our office.
- Remember to allow for easy access to your tank. This includes locked gates, obstructions, or pets. Our driver cannot deliver without access to your tank.
